First off, what is a passport? Passport is an official government - issued document that verifies a person's identity and nationality for International travel.
What is a passport good for?
- International Travel: It is a requirement for international travel, allowing you to enter and exit foreign counties.
- Domestic Travel: It can be used as a valid form of identification for domestic air travel within the U.S.
- Proof of citizenship: It serves as a document to prove your U.S. citizenship
- Cruise Line Travel: If you plan on going on ANY cruise ship you MUST have a passport even if you are traveling to U.S. ports.
Please keep in mind that children under the age of 16 are valid for 5 years and must be applied for as a new passport, not renewed. Passports for children aged 16 and 17 are valid for 10 years and can be renewed.
What is TSA PreCheck?
TSA PreCheck is a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) program that provides expedited airport security screening for enrolled members, allowing them to keep shoes, belts, and light jackets on, and leave electronics and 3-1-1 liquids in their carry-on bags. Members use dedicated security lanes at over 200 participating U.S. airports and over 90 airlines, which leads to a faster and less stressful travel experience.
How does it work?
1. Application - You apply online to the TSA PreCheck program, which involves an in-person appointment at an enrollment center for fingerprinting and document verification. Did you know that you can get this done at your locate STAPLES store.
2. Known Traveler Number (KTN) - Upon approval, you receive a KTN, which is your unique identifier for the program.
3. Add to Reservations - You add this KTN to your airline reservation
4. Expedited Screening - When you check in for a flight, the "TSA PreCheck" designation appears on your boarding pass, and you can use the dedicated security lane.

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) announced today that it will refer all passengers who do not present an acceptable form of ID and still want to fly an option to pay a $45 fee to use a modernized alternative identity verification system, TSA Confirm.ID, to establish identity at security checkpoints beginning on February 1, 2026.

JUST Announced 2026 Art Festival: 🎭🎨 The 2026 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts will run from January 16 to February 23, 2026. The EPCOT International Festival of the Arts made its debut in 2017, making it one of EPCOT’s newest seasonal celebrations. Known for blending visual, performing, and culinary arts, it has quickly become a guest favorite filled with interactive photo ops, unique food creations, iconic paint-by-numbers murals, and artwork by Disney artists displayed throughout the park, plus the one-of-a-kind DISNEY ON BROADWAY Concert Series.
JUST Announced 2026 Flower & Garden Festival: 🌸👨🌾 Find magic in bloom at a festival full of flowers, flavor and fun—from March 4 to June 1, 2026. Check back this winter for information on the 2026 event. This festival has Topiaries and Gardens throughout the park. EPCOT Flower and Garden also has outdoor kitchens with variety of culinary experiences and have live entertainment with Garden Rocks Concert Series.
Disney After Hours will begin Spring 2026. This special ticketed event you can enjoy 3 hours of magical fun—experiencing thrilling attractions, snacking on tasty treats and more—at select theme parks at Walt Disney World Resort. After Hours are available at Magic Kingdom, EPOCT and Hollywood Studios on select nights.
Heads Up: These Attractions Are Closing Permanently or Modified Schedule
- 🚂 The Walt Disney World Railroad: To make way for the largest expansion in history at Magic Kingdom, the Walt Disney World Railroad is operating under a modified route that excludes Frontierland. The attraction will operate as a shuttle between Main Street station and Fantasyland station only.The complete will return once Villains Land opens. During this shuttle operation, some train benches will be rotated to face backward to accommodate the train's back - and forth movement.
- Big thunder Mountain Railroad is down for refurbished and will reopen in Spring of 2026.
🚡Disney's Skyliner will be closed for refurbishment January 25 - 31, 2026. Next year, January 24 - 30, 2027
- 🦖DinoLand U.S.A. will permanently close on February 2, 2026. This means the final day to experience DINOSAUR, The Dino Institute Shop, Restaurantosaurus, and Restaurantosaurus Lounge is February 1, 2026.
- This winter, Harambe Market will temporarily close to enable the location to begin serving these fan-favorite items when DinoLand closes. We expect the location to reopen in early 2026.
- DINOSAUR: The last day to experience DINOSAUR is February 1. The attraction will close permanently on February 2 to make way for Tropical Americas.
🚀 Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin at Magic Kingdom will reopen with new gameplay & character and will open in Spring 2026.
Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets: To make way for Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, opening in Summer 2026, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith will close on March 2, 2026. The last day of operations is March 1, 2026.
